Since 1992, ValueStar has rated more than 7,000 local service businesses nationwide, and currently provides customer ratings and reviews of service businesses and professionals across hundreds of industries — from auto repair, car rentals, doctors & dentists to home décor.

ValueStar's goal is to help quality-seeking consumers identify credentialed and quality-driven service providers.  We give consumers valuable information that can help them make better buying decisions, faster and more confidently.  ValueStar provides additional, value-added benefits to consumers who submit feedback on ValueStar Customer-Rated businesses and on businesses in the ValueStar Verified program, encouraging consumers to share their opinions with others.

ValueStar listings and reviews of quality service businesses are available free of charge at the ValueStar.com website so that consumers can rapidly and conveniently identify and contact quality local businesses and receive independent, real-time consumer satisfaction ratings about these companies.

ValueStar Customer-Rated businesses display the Customer-Rated seal in their signs and advertisements to further assist consumers in finding service businesses they can trust.

Independent Customer Ratings of Service Businesses

ValueStar businesses cannot pay to influence their ratings or listings.  ValueStar collects the types of consumer feedback about service businesses that consumers tell us are the most important to them.  ValueStar does not limit the number of service businesses per category so that we can provide our consumers with the broadest choice of quality service providers.

Value-Added Benefits for Consumers

When you submit feedback on a ValueStar business, you earn valuable benefits based on the business' ValueStar rating.  ValueStar business listings fall into the following categories:

  • Customer-Rated businesses, along with Customer-Rated Gold, are known to offer the highest standards of customer satisfaction.  When you submit feedback on a Customer-Rated business, you activate ValueStar's $1,000 Money-Back Satisfaction Guarantee, are eligible for ValueStar's Dispute Resolution Services, and receive ValueStar Rewards points.

  • Businesses in the ValueStar Verified program have agreed to display full and honest feedback about their services from customers "verified" by ValueStar to truly be customers of the business being rated.  When you submit feedback on a business in the ValueStar Verified program, you receive ValueStar Rewards points.

How Businesses Are Rated

  • ValueStar Customer-Rated businesses are known to offer the highest standards of customer satisfaction, and specifically:

    • have agreed to abide by ValueStar's Consumer Bill of Rights;
    • have met ValueStar's tests for being properly licensed and insured and for having good credit and legal standing;
    • have been rated highly by the business' recent customers selected at random in a ValueStar telephone survey; and
    • permit ValueStar to continuously gather and display reviews from confirmed customers, including those surveyed by phone, and all reviews from confirmed customers submitted within 90 days of the transaction are posted, whether positive or negative, making ValueStar reviews the most reliable reviews anywhere.

    Only ValueStar Customer-Rated businesses are authorized to display the Customer-Rated seal in their signage and advertising to convey their proven high levels of customer satisfaction.

    Customers submitting feedback on Customer-Rated businesses receive ValueStar's $1,000 Money-Back Satisfaction Guarantee, Dispute Resolution Services, and ValueStar Rewards points redeemable for cash cards with major retailers.


  • Businesses in the ValueStar Verified program have agreed to display full and honest feedback about their services, and specifically:

    • permit ValueStar to gather ratings and reviews from "verified" customers, at both the ValueStar.com website and the businesses' own websites with "Powered by ValueStar" technology.
    • All reviews from confirmed customers submitted within 90 days of the transaction are posted, whether positive or negative, making ValueStar reviews the most reliable reviews anywhere.

    Customers submitting feedback on businesses displaying ValueStar Verified reviews receive ValueStar Rewards points redeemable for cash cards with major retailers.
